Combining her lived experience as a woman on the spectrum with her professional training as an historian, Catherine Lawrence writes lyrical, sensual, plot-driven historical fiction featuring autistic and neurodivergent protagonists who always find their happy endings. Favorite characters include 18th- & 19th-century gentlewomen, servants, soldiers, and spies.

She studied Art History and English at Harvard and earned graduate degrees in History from Yale. After teaching in the humanities at a Pennsylvania college for several years, she left academia for the book- and coffee-trade. She is a founder, owner, and president of the Midtown Scholar Bookstore, selected by Publishers Weekly as the 2023 Bookstore of the Year.
